Apple launches new macbook air and pro models in UAE

Apple has introduced updated MacBook Air and MacBook Pro models in the UAE, powered by its latest M5-series chips and offering larger base storage, while keeping starting prices largely stable.

The new lineup includes the MacBook Air with the M5 chip, as well as higher-end MacBook Pro models featuring the M5 Pro and M5 Max processors.

Pre-orders begin on March 4, with the devices available in Apple Store locations and through authorised resellers across the UAE starting March 11.

The 13-inch MacBook Air with the M5 chip starts at Dh4,599 and now comes with 512GB of storage as standard, double the previous base capacity.

Apple said the M5 chip delivers improved performance and enhanced on-device AI capabilities.

Since moving away from Intel processors in 2020, Apple’s in-house M-series chips have been associated with gains in battery life and efficiency compared to many Windows-based laptops.

With increased storage at entry level, the MacBook Air is positioned as a stronger option for students, creatives and professionals working with larger files, images and AI-based tasks.

Apple also refreshed its 14-inch MacBook Pro range.

The base 14-inch MacBook Pro with M5 now includes 1TB of storage and starts at Dh7,199.

The M5 Pro version begins at Dh9,299, while the top-end 14-inch model with M5 Max starts at Dh15,499.

The laptops are available in Space Black and Silver.

By increasing storage in standard configurations, Apple is adjusting its pricing structure amid global supply pressures affecting memory components such as DRAM and NAND flash.

The MacBook updates follow the recent launch of the iPhone 17e, priced at Dh2,599 in the UAE, indicating a period of consecutive product releases for the company.
