The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority on Tuesday increased electricity prices by 35 paisa per unit under a quarterly adjustment, adding to the financial burden on consumers nationwide.
According to the regulator’s decision, the increase has been approved for the October to December 2025 quarter.
The additional charge will be recovered from consumers over three months from March to May 2026.
Nepra said the hike falls under the quarterly tariff adjustment mechanism. Consumers will see the added amount reflected in their monthly electricity bills starting next month.
The authority stated that the increase will remain applicable for the specified period before being phased out under the adjustment schedule.
