Federal Minister for Information Attaullah Tarar has said that unnecessary sensationalism was created over the eye condition of former prime minister Imran Khan, adding that the government has fulfilled its responsibility to provide medical care.
Speaking to the media in London, the minister said there is neither any “deal” nor any “relief” being granted to the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder.
He emphasised that Imran Khan’s health condition is not alarming and blamed the social media for exaggerating the situation.
According to him, the issue concerning the PTI founder’s eye has been addressed, and his health has significantly improved.
Tarar stated that medical experts conducted a detailed examination of the PTI founder, adding that proper healthcare facilities were provided.
He added that the main PTI leaders were also given a formal briefing regarding Imran Khan’s health condition and stressed that health matters should not be politicised.
Responding to a question about the cricket team’s defeat to India, Tarar said there had been no formal discussion with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on the matter.
He noted that winning and losing are part of the game but acknowledged that there is considerable room for improvement in the team’s performance, expressing hope that things will improve going forward.
