The first meeting of the Gul Plaza judicial commission was held in Karachi on Wednesday under the chairmanship of Justice Agha Faisal.
The meeting was attended by senior officials, including the Karachi Commissioner and the secretary of the Law and Home Department.
The commission issued a public notice seeking evidence and information from the public regarding the incident.
Citizens who possess relevant details about the tragedy have been urged to come forward and share them with the commission.
The notice, which also includes the commission’s terms of reference (TORs), will be published in newspapers and the Press Information Department has been issued instructions in this regard.
It states that individuals with information about the incident can contact the commission before February 20.
The notice emphasises that all facts and details regarding the event can be submitted.
Chief Justice of the Sindh High Court, Justice Zafar Ahmed Rajput, has provided a secretariat for the commission, which has been established within the Sindh High Court premises.
Justice Agha Faisal has directed the Karachi Commissioner to notify the commission’s staff, which will include the registrar of the commission, a focal person, and relevant experts.
