Pakistan and seven other Muslim countries have strongly condemned Israel’s repeated violations of the ceasefire in Gaza and rejected its claims over the occupied West Bank, warning that continued expansionist policies threaten regional peace.
In a joint statement, the foreign ministers of Pakistan, Egypt, Jordan, the United Arab Emirates, Indonesia, Turkiye, Saudi Arabia and Qatar denounced what they described as illegal Israeli measures aimed at imposing unlawful sovereignty, expanding settlements and altering the legal and administrative status of the occupied Palestinian territory.
The ministers reaffirmed that Israel has no sovereignty over the occupied Palestinian lands and said recent decisions in the West Bank were null and void under international law.
They warned that ongoing settlement activity and other unilateral actions by Israel were fuelling violence and instability in the region, and called on the international community to take effective steps to compel Israel to halt its use of force and comply with international obligations.
The statement expressed “absolute rejection” of what it termed illegal actions that undermine the two-state solution and violate the inalienable right of the Palestinian people to establish an independent and sovereign state along the June 4, 1967 borders, with occupied East Jerusalem as its capital.
The foreign ministers said such measures constituted a clear breach of United Nations Security Council Resolution 2334, which condemns all attempts to alter the demographic composition, character and status of the Palestinian territory occupied since 1967.
They also cited the 2024 advisory opinion of the International Court of Justice, which declared Israel’s continued presence and policies in the occupied Palestinian territory illegal and affirmed the necessity of ending the occupation and invalidating any annexation of Palestinian land.
The ministers reiterated their commitment to supporting peace efforts based on international law and urged renewed global engagement to ensure lasting stability in the Middle East.
