DIB Pakistan marked a key highlight of the 18th International Inter-School Annual Rowing Regatta with the Indoor Rowing Competition, culminating in a medal distribution ceremony.
The indoor racing event brought together young rowers competing across various age groups in a test of endurance, strength, and technique, offering an inclusive and high-energy platform that complements the on-water races.
Winners were awarded medals by Muhammad Ali Gulfaraz, CEO DIB, acknowledging both competitive excellence and the commitment demonstrated by participants throughout the event.
Speaking at the ceremony, Muhammad Ali Gulfaraz emphasised the importance of providing structured, positive platforms that encourage youth participation in sport and reinforce healthy habits from an early age.
“Events like the indoor rowing competition reflect the power of sport to bring young people together in an environment that rewards effort, discipline, and perseverance,” said Muhammad Ali Gulfaraz.
The indoor racing segment has become an integral part of the Regatta, enabling broader participation while showcasing rowing as an accessible and performance-driven sport.
It also reinforces the Karachi Boat Club’s longstanding commitment to developing rowing talent through world-class facilities, coaching, and safety standards.
The Regatta brings together more than 600 student athletes from over 25 schools, universities, and clubs from Pakistan and abroad, fostering cross-cultural exchange and international sporting camaraderie while it continues to strengthen Pakistan’s presence on the regional and global rowing calendar.
