Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar was contacted by Somalian Foreign Minister Abdulsalam Abdi Ali over the phone, thanking Pakistan for its opposition to Israel’s decision to recognise Somaliland.

According to the Foreign Office, Somalian Foreign Minister Abdulsalam Ali discussed the regional situation and challenges faced in the Security Council during a phone call with Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar.

The Somalian Foreign Minister requested Pakistan’s assistance in presenting Somalia’s concerns in the Security Council.

During the conversation, Ishaq Dar reiterated Pakistan’s full support for Somalia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity and condemned any move to undermine Somalia’s sovereignty.

He said that Pakistan will continue to support Somalia’s legitimate position at the United Nations and other international forums.

Ishaq Dar assured that Pakistan will provide full support to Somalia at every relevant forum, including the Security Council.
