A Lahore FIA Central Court on Monday granted bail to three officials of the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) in a case involving the alleged acceptance of a bribe from the wife of YouTuber Saad-ur-Rehman, popularly known as Ducky Bhai, while rejecting the bail plea of a fourth accused.
The court approved the bail applications of Assistant Director Mujtaba, Inspector Ali Raza and Sub-Inspector Yasir Gujar, directing each to submit surety bonds of Rs100,000 for their release.
However, the bail request of accused Salman Aziz was dismissed.
During the hearing, defence counsel Farooq Bajwa argued that the accused were falsely implicated.
He told the court that the prosecution alleged a bribe of Rs9 million, while the claimed recovery stood at Rs40 million, terming the figures contradictory.
The defence further maintained that the accused were not involved in any bribery and that no complainant had surfaced in the case, allegedly related to monthly payments.
After hearing arguments from both sides, the court granted bail to three of the accused while denying relief to Salman Aziz, ordering that further proceedings in the case continue.
The case pertains to allegations of bribery linked to Ducky Bhai’s wife and is being investigated by the FIA.
