Four soldiers martyred, four terrorists killed in North Waziristan

Four Pakistan Army soldiers were martyred and four Fitna al Khawarij militants were killed after security forces foiled a terrorist attack on a security forces camp in the Boya area of North Waziristan, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Friday.

According to ISPR, terrorists belonging to Indian proxy group Fitna al Khwarij attempted to breach the camp’s perimeter security. Troops responded swiftly and effectively, thwarting the assault.

After failing to penetrate the camp, the attackers rammed an explosives-laden vehicle into the outer perimeter wall, causing damage to nearby civilian infrastructure, including a mosque and several houses.

The blast left 15 civilians, including women and children, seriously injured.

ISPR described the act as blatant barbarism and a grave crime against humanity.

Security forces launched a decisive counter-operation, killing all four khawarij at the scene, ISPR said.

During the intense exchange of fire, four soldiers embraced martyrdom. The martyred personnel were identified as Havildar Muhammad Waqas, 42, from Kotli; Naik Khanwaiz, 38, from Mansehra; Sepoy Sufyan Haider, 25, from Vehari; and Sepoy Riffat, 32, from Layyah.

ISPR said the attack was planned and orchestrated by Khwarij operating from Afghanistan, contradicting claims by the Afghan Taliban interim government that its territory is not used for terrorist activities.

Pakistan has called on the interim Afghan government to fulfil its responsibilities and prevent militant groups from using Afghan soil to carry out attacks against Pakistan.

The military’s media wing said the safety and security of Pakistan’s people remain the top priority and reiterated that the country reserves the right to take all necessary measures against militants, their facilitators and affiliates.
