Police have solved the murder case of a young man whose tortured body was found near a cemetery off Lytton Road earlier this year, arresting five suspects, including the prime accused.
According to police, the body was recovered in May 2025 from the Miani Sahib cemetery area. The victim was later identified as Ali Haider.
Investigators said the main suspect runs a marquee business, where the victim and the other accused were employed.
During interrogation, police found that Ali Haider was subjected to severe torture on suspicion of theft.
Police said the suspects later killed him and dumped his body in a cemetery after transporting it in a vehicle.
The arrests were made using professional investigative techniques and human intelligence, police said, adding that further legal proceedings are underway.
