Cristiano Ronaldo tipped for cameo in final Fast & Furious film

Fans may see football superstar Cristiano Ronaldo make a surprise appearance in the final Fast & Furious movie, following hints shared by lead actor Vin Diesel.

Diesel, who plays Dominic “Dom” Toretto, posted a photo with Ronaldo on Instagram and suggested the footballer would be part of the franchise. “Everyone asked, would he be in the Fast mythology… We wrote a role for him,” Diesel wrote.

Ronaldo has not confirmed the appearance, and Universal Pictures has yet to announce a release date for the film.

The 11th and reportedly final instalment will also see the return of franchise regulars, including Dwayne Johnson, Jason Statham, Jason Momoa, Jordana Brewster and Michelle Rodriguez.

Diesel has also confirmed that the character Brian O’Connor, originally played by the late Paul Walker, will feature in the movie.

The film will be directed by Louis Leterrier, who helmed Fast X, with Christina Hodson and Oren Uziel writing the screenplay.

Speculation about Ronaldo’s cameo comes as Universal Pictures keeps a tighter budget on the project after Fast X cost about $340 million to produce.

While the film earned more than $700 million globally, it was among the franchise’s least profitable.

By comparison, F9 grossed over $725 million worldwide on a significantly smaller budget.
