Section 144 has been extended in Rawalpindi until December 17, authorities confirmed.

The order bans all public gatherings, including rallies, processions, and meetings.

Officials have warned that any assembly of more than four people will be subject to strict action.

The Deputy Commissioner of Rawalpindi approved the extension in view of the prevailing situation.
