An Islamabad anti-terrorism court (ATC) on Thursday initiated proclamation proceedings against Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi in a case linked to the November 26 protest.
ATC Judge Abual Hasanat Zulqarnain approved a police request from Islamabad’s Police Station Noon seeking to declare the chief minister a proclaimed offender.
The court also began similar proceedings against provincial minister Mina Khan Afridi and Dr Amjad.
Police stated in their application that Sohail Afridi and the other accused were repeatedly summoned but failed to appear before the court.
A case against them is already registered in connection with the November 26 protest.
The court has directed the required legal steps to proceed with the proclamation process.
