A Lahore court on Saturday dismissed an acquittal plea filed by Subhan, a co-accused in the case related to the alleged illegal promotion of online gambling apps.
The court also adjourned the proceedings against YouTuber Saad-ur-Rehman, popularly known as Ducky Bhai, and other accused until December 17.
Judicial Magistrate Naeem Wattoo summoned all suspects to the next hearing for indictment.
During the proceedings, Ducky Bhai and co-accused Aroob Jatoi appeared before the court.
The defence informed the judge that Subhan had sought acquittal.
Ducky Bhai told the court that Subhan had joined his team three months before his own arrest and was employed on a salary of Rs100,000, adding that he had no role in the case.
The judge asked about Aroob Jatoi’s pre-arrest bail. Ducky Bhai’s counsel replied that her bail had already been approved.
The court further inquired about other pending applications.
The defence said a plea had been filed for the return of seized electronic devices and mobile phones, which were currently in the custody of the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA).
The counsel also requested the return of four credit cards and cash.
The NCCIA had registered the case against the YouTuber and other suspects over alleged unlawful promotion of gambling apps.
The hearing was adjourned until December 17.
