Tri-Nation T20: Pakistan crush Sri Lanka by seven wickets in Rawalpindi

Pakistan secured their second consecutive victory in the Tri-Nation T20 series by defeating Sri Lanka by seven wickets in Rawalpindi on Saturday.

After winning the toss, Sri Lanka chose to bat first and posted 128 runs for the loss of seven wickets in their allotted overs. Janith Liyanage top-scored with 41 runs, while Kusal Perera contributed 25, Kamal Mishara added 22, and Pathum Nissanka made 17.

Pakistan’s Mohammad Nawaz took three key wickets, keeping the Sri Lankan innings in check.

Chasing a modest target of 129, Pakistan reached the total comfortably in the 16th over.

Sahibzada Farhan starred with 80 runs off 45 balls, anchoring the chase and guiding the team to victory.

Pakistan made one change to their playing XI, with Shaheen Afridi ruled out due to a foot injury. Salman Mirza was included in his place, with the PCB stating that Shaheen’s participation against Sri Lanka will remain subject to fitness clearance.

The team will next face Zimbabwe in the third match of the series.
