Pakistan Shaheens beat Sri Lanka to reach Asia Cup Rising Stars final

Pakistan Shaheens secured a spot in the Asia Cup Rising Stars final by defeating Sri Lanka A in a closely contested semi-final on Friday.

Sri Lanka won the toss and elected to field, allowing Pakistan Shaheens to bat first.

Posting 153 runs for the loss of nine wickets in their allotted overs, Pakistan relied on key contributions from Ghazi Ghouri, who scored 39, and Muaz Siddiqui, who added 23.

In reply, Sri Lanka A fell short by just five runs, finishing their innings well below the target.

Milan’s 40 runs went in vain, while Lasith and Vishen contributed 29 each. None of the remaining Sri Lankan batsmen managed to reach double figures.

Pakistan’s bowling attack, led by Sufyan Muqeem and Saad Masood, took three wickets each, effectively dismantling the opposition’s lineup.

The thrilling victory sets up a final showdown between Pakistan Shaheens and Bangladesh A in the Asia Cup Rising Stars tournament.
