The federal government has convened a meeting of the 11th National Finance Commission (NFC) on December 4 to begin work on a new formula for the distribution of national resources among the provinces.
The meeting, scheduled for 11:00 a.m., will be chaired by Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb in his capacity as NFC chairman.
According to officials, the finance ministers of all four provinces and other members of the commission will attend.
The session will review a three-point agenda, including presentations by the federation and all provinces on their current financial positions.
The meeting will also decide the schedule for subsequent NFC sessions that will negotiate and finalise the next NFC Award.
