Mexico’s Fátima Bosch has been crowned Miss Universe 2025, closing out a pageant that saw its share of drama and controversy.
The final round asked the Top 5 contestants representing Thailand, the Philippines, Venezuela, Mexico and Côte d’Ivoire how they would use the Miss Universe platform to empower young girls.
Bosch secured the crown with her message of confidence and self-worth:
“Believe in the power of your authenticity. Believe in yourself. Your dreams matter, your heart matters, and never let anyone make you doubt your worth. You are powerful, and your voice needs to be heard.”
Her win comes just two weeks after a public dispute in which pageant host Nawat Itsaragrisil appeared to single her out and call her a “dumbhead” over alleged failure to share promotional posts on social media a moment that sparked backlash online.
Bosch’s journey to the crown has been shaped by personal challenges. After receiving a dyslexia and ADHD diagnosis at an early age, she started volunteering to help her neighborhood.
She now makes art out of trash and contributes the money to organizations that support immigrants and kids with cancer.
Her background, tenacity, and advocacy work made her stand out in what turned out to be one of the most talked-about Miss Universe contests in recent memory.
