Pakistan beat Zimbabwe by 5 wickets in Tri-Nation T20 opener

Pakistan defeated Zimbabwe by five wickets in the opening match of the Tri-Nation T20 series on Tuesday.

Chasing a modest target of 148, Pakistan reached 148-5 in the final over to secure a comfortable victory.

After winning the toss, Pakistan chose to field first. Zimbabwe managed 147 runs for eight wickets, with opener Brian Bennett top-scoring with 49 and captain Sikandar Raza contributing 34.

For Pakistan, Muhammad Nawaz claimed two wickets, while Saim Ayub, Abrar Ahmed, Salman Mirza, and Shaheen Afridi took one wicket each.

In response, Pakistan’s openers Fakhar Zaman and Usman Khan scored 45 and 37 runs respectively, anchoring the chase.

Pakistan’s playing XI included Saim Ayub, Sahibzada Farhan, Fakhar Zaman, Babar Azam, Salman Ali Agha, Usman Khan, Muhammad Nawaz, Faheem Ashraf, Salman Mirza, Shaheen Afridi, and Abrar Ahmed.

The ongoing Tri-Nation series features Pakistan, Zimbabwe, and Sri Lanka.
