Russia has offered to mediate between Pakistan and Afghanistan to ease rising tensions along their shared border, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova said.
Zakharova emphasised that stability in the region is a priority for both Russia and the international community.
She urged Pakistan and Afghanistan to exercise restraint, warning that border tensions pose a threat to regional peace.
“Negotiations are the only sustainable solution to these issues,” she added, noting that both countries are important partners.
The Russian offer aims to facilitate dialogue and prevent further escalation.
