Armed robbers kill man during home burglary in Karachi’s Sharafi Goth

Armed robbers shot and killed a 50-year-old man during a home burglary in Sharafi Goth, Karachi, police said on Thursday.

The victim, identified as Shahid, son of Abdul Karim, was the sole breadwinner of his family and father to three daughters.

According to relatives, Shahid worked for a private pharmaceutical company and had taken a rare day off from work on the day of the incident.

The incident took place near Shah Ali Goth in Mohammad City, when three armed men entered his home.

Shahid asked the intruders to leave as his young daughters were present in the home, prompting the robbers to open fire before fleeing.

Speaking from Jinnah Hospital, Shahid’s relative Mohammad Umair said, “He was the only provider for the family. Today, by coincidence, he was at home when the robbers entered. He told them to leave because the children were present, and they fired at him before escaping.”

Police confirmed that the three suspects had entered Shahid’s house with the intent to loot. When he resisted, the robbers opened fire, fatally wounding him.

This tragic incident marks another case of fatal armed robberies in Karachi.

So far this year, 79 civilians have been killed in the city during robberies after resisting armed intruders.
