A powerful earthquake measuring 7.1 on the Richter scale hit near the east coast of Russia’s Kamchatka region on Saturday.

According to the German Research Centre for Geosciences (GFZ).

The tremor occurred at a depth of 10 kilometers (6.2 miles).

There was no information about injuries reported.
