The Balochistan cabinet, under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti, has approved the provincial budget for the fiscal year 2025–26, with a total outlay of Rs1.02 trillion and a surplus of Rs34 billion.
According to sources, an amount of Rs249.5 billion has been allocated for the development budget, while over Rs639 billion has been earmarked for non-development expenditures.
Additionally, Rs66.5 billion has been set aside for federally-assisted projects while Rs30 billion proposed for FPA schemes.
Foreign-aided projects will receive Rs34 billion, and Rs43 billion is proposed for operating expenses.
Sector-wise, the budget proposes Rs125 billion for education, Rs81 billion for health, Rs92 billion for local government, Rs75 billion for agriculture, and Rs56 billion for industrial development.
The budget also includes a proposed 10% increase in salaries for government employees.
