The Sindh government has declared Friday, April 4, a public holiday to mark the 46th death anniversary of Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, founder of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and former prime minister.

A notification from Sindh Chief Secretary Asif Haider Shah confirmed that all provincial government offices, as well as autonomous bodies, corporations, and local councils under the provincial government, will remain closed.

To commemorate Bhutto’s death anniversary, the PPP will host a condolence gathering in Garhi Khuda Bakhsh, expected to draw party workers and supporters from across the country.

Yesterday, President Asif Ali Zardari awarded Pakistan’s highest civil honour, the Nishan-e-Pakistan, to the late Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, recognizing his exceptional contributions. The award was received by Bhutto’s daughter, Sanam Bhutto, during a ceremony at Aiwan-i-Sadr.

The event was attended by notable figures such as Senate Chairman Yousuf Raza Gilani, PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto, and First Lady Aseefa Bhutto-Zardari, honouring individuals for their remarkable achievements in various fields.
