Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, DG ISPR, will hold a press conference today regarding the Jaffar Express incident.

The press conference, scheduled for 3:30pm in Islamabad, will also feature Chief Minister of Balochistan, Sarfraz Bugti. They will share the details of the attack on Jaffar Express and the security forces’ rescue operation.

Key points will include the ongoing investigation into the incident, the response from security forces, and future security measures.

On March 11, terrorists detonated a bomb on a railway track in the Bolan Pass area, attacking Jaffar Express and taking over 400 passengers hostage. Security forces conducted a major operation in Dhadar, Bolan Pass, leading to the deaths of at least 33 attackers.

On March 12, Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry announced that all hostages had been rescued and all 33 terrorists had been neutralized. Prior to the operation, the attackers had killed 21 civilians.
