The Pakistan Army has strongly condemned remarks by Indian Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi , accusing him of making false and politically motivated statements to deflect attention from human rights abuses in Indian-occupieded Kashmir.
In a statement released by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the Pakistani military spokesperson said General Rawat’s assertion that Pakistan is a hub of terrorism is completely unfounded. The ISPR characterized the statement as a blatant attempt to distract from India’s alleged state-sponsored oppression and a prime example of Indian deception.
The statement further alleges that General Dwivedi’s remarks are a deliberate attempt to shift focus away from the alleged brutality committed by Indian forces in Jammu and Kashmir.
The ISPR said that the Indian Army Chief’s actions demonstrate excessive political interference in the military and that he personally oversaw atrocities in the occupied territory.
The ISPR went on to accuse India of fueling hatred and inciting violence against Muslims, claiming the international community is aware of India’s alleged human rights violations and the oppression of unarmed Kashmiris.
It asserted that these actions have only strengthened the Kashmiri people’s resolve for self-determination. The statement implicitly accuses India of genocide.
Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry has rejected claims made by the Indian defense minister and chief of army staff regarding Jammu and Kashmir, stating that the region’s status is an internationally recognized dispute to be resolved according to United Nations resolutions.
In a statement, the Foreign Ministry spokesperson emphasized that the final status of Jammu and Kashmir must be determined in accordance with the wishes of the Kashmiri people. The spokesperson dismissed India’s claims to Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan as baseless and without justification. The statement further asserted that India’s pronouncements cannot deflect international attention from the serious human rights violations allegedly occurring in the region.
The spokesperson reiterated that India lacks any legal or moral basis for its purported claims to Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan. The statement concluded by emphasizing that India’s rhetoric cannot obscure the ongoing human rights abuses.
