Pakistani security forces have killed nine militants and apprehended two in two separate operations in North Waziristan, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) announced. The operations, conducted overnight between January 11 and 12, targeted militant hideouts in the Dosali and Eshaam areas of the region.
According to the ISPR, the first operation in Dosalli was launched following intelligence reports indicating the presence of militants. A heavy exchange of fire ensued, resulting in the deaths of six militants and the capture of two more who were wounded.
The second operation, in Esham, also involved a firefight that left three militants dead and two injured. Security forces recovered weapons, ammunition, and explosive materials from the slain militants.
The ISPR statement identified the militants as members of a group engaged in terrorist activities against security forces and the targeting of innocent civilians. A clearance operation continues in the area to eliminate any remaining militants.
The ISPR emphasized the Pakistani security forces’ commitment to eradicating terrorism from the country.
