Explosion on Railway Station Road in Balochistan’s Chaman injures four

A powerful explosion occurred on the Railway Station Road in Chaman, resulting in injuries to four individuals who have since been transported to the hospital for treatment.

Police and security forces have cordoned off the area to conduct an investigation and ensure public safety.

Further details regarding the cause of the explosion and the condition of the injured are yet to be released. Authorities are working to gather more information about the incident and assess the situation.

An improvised explosive device attached to a motorcycle detonated when a Frontier Corps truck transporting personnel between an army fort and an FC fort exploded, said the police.

All FC personnel aboard the truck were unharmed. Four civilians were injured in the blast. Two of the injured received minor treatment on-site while the third was taken to a hospital for further care. All of them are out of danger, said police.

The incident occurred just days after a suicide bomber drove an explosive-laden vehicle into a bus carrying FC personnel near Behan, en route to Turbat. The banned terrorist organisation claimed responsibility for the attack.

At least six people died and over 50 injured, including Senior Superintendent of Police Zohaib Mohsin and six members of his family, were injured in the attack.

In 2024, Pakistan, especially the provinces of Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, has seen a significant rise in terrorism-related activities.
