Daughters allegedly set father on fire in Gujranwala

Two daughters have been accused of binding their father with ropes and setting him ablaze, leading to his death from severe burn injuries in the hospital.

The tragic event took place in the Mughal Chowk area under the jurisdiction of the Civil Lines police station. Authorities have registered a case and taken both daughters into custody. The police have also named the deceased’s two wives as co-accused in the matter.

The victim, 45-year-old Ali Akbar, had three marriages and a total of twelve children. His first wife had passed away, and he was living in a rented home with his two surviving wives and children.

According to police reports, the accused daughters, including 16-year-old Anum and 12-year-old Yashfa—have confessed to the crime during questioning. They claimed that their father had sexually assaulted them.
