Six brothers marry six sisters in unique joint ceremony in Pakistan

Six brothers have broken with tradition and sparked a new trend by marrying six sisters from the same family in a simple joint ceremony in Khan Bela, a suburb of Jalalpur Pirwala.

The unique event has drawn considerable attention throughout the region.

Two of the grooms, Nigran Abbas and Kamran Abbas, explained their decision to forgo the customary dowry, stating that they arranged it themselves to avoid placing a financial burden on the brides’ family.

They expressed their opposition to the practice of dowry, emphasizing the Islamic emphasis on simple weddings, as exemplified by the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).

Furthermore, the families declined to accept the traditional “Salami,” cash gifts typically offered by guests at weddings.
