The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has announced that the fees for the Computerised National Identity Card (CNIC) and B-form will remain unchanged starting January 2025.
The CNIC is crucial for accessing numerous services, including obtaining a driving license, National Tax Number (NTN), opening a bank account, acquiring a passport, and getting a mobile phone connection. It is mandatory for all Pakistani citizens aged 18 and older.
Additionally, the CNIC plays a vital role in healthcare by linking medical records and is essential for educational institutions during admission processes.
As of January 2025, the standard fee for a new Smart National Identity Card is set at Rs750. For those requiring expedited processing, the fee will be Rs1,500, while the executive category fee is Rs2,500.
Applicants need to provide a birth certificate or matriculation result card and a copy of a family member’s CNIC when applying.
