HGTV star Heather Rae El Moussa has responded to criticism surrounding her choice of attire during a recent holiday celebration.
The 37-year-old, who is married to Tarek El Moussa and shares a one-year-old son, Tristan, posted photos on Instagram showcasing her wearing a striking red dress made of fishnet and lace at a Christmas party.
While many fans praised her glamorous look, some commenters deemed the outfit inappropriate for a mother.
Comments ranged from compliments about her beauty to criticisms suggesting the dress was more suited for the bedroom than a family gathering.
In addressing the backlash, Heather stated, “So because I’m a mother I can’t wear a pretty dress that makes me feel beautiful?”
Heather emphasised that motherhood does not define her identity, insisting she is still a person with her “sense of style.”
She shared a screenshot of the exchange on her Instagram story, adding, “Comments like this make me laugh. I don’t even get offended anymore by the rudeness of others. I choose to spread joy, not hate.”
