The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced on Sunday the introduction of the Fans’ Choice Awards to commemorate nine years of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) success.
According to the PCB, both local and international players who have participated in previous editions of the league will be nominated, and the nomination process will open for fan voting.
The nominations will be divided into six categories: best batter, best bowler, best all-rounder, Most Valuable Player (MVP), best individual batting performance, and best individual bowling performance.
After nominations, the outcome will depend entirely on the fans, with the player receiving the most votes in each category being declared the winner during the highly anticipated players draft, set to take place in Gwadar, Balochistan, on January 11, 2025.
Salman Naseer, CEO of the PSL, stated in a PCB release that fans are the cornerstone of the league’s success over the years. He emphasized that the new awards will honor their passion and commitment.
“The HBL PSL’s successful journey has been made possible by the unwavering support of our loyal fans, who are integral to the league’s success. The Fans’ Choice Awards are our way of recognizing their enthusiasm and giving them a platform to celebrate their favorite players and moments as we honor the best of HBL PSL together.
