The Punjab Education Department has eased the uniform policy for children in winter, allowing them to wear warm clothes over their school uniforms.
The relaxation in the uniform policy would be applicable to all government and private schools with “immediate effect”, according to a notification. Students have been allowed to wear jackets, sweaters, coats, socks and shoes of any colour.
“The uniform policy will be applicable till February 28, 2025. The relaxation in the uniform policy has been made to protect students from the cold,” it said.
“Mainly cold and dry weather is expected in most parts of the country, while very cold in hilly areas. Shallow to moderate fog (in patches) is likely at few places in Northeast/South Punjab and Upper Sindh during morning hours,” the Met Office said.
