Karachi residents are facing the possibility of water shortages due to essential repairs on a major water pipeline once again.
The Karachi Water and Sewerage Board (KWSB) spokesperson announced that repairs will begin on Monday on an 84-inch diameter water main located on University Road.
The repairs are expected to last 72 hours, with the KWSB aiming to restore full water supply by Wednesday. The CEO of the KWSB will inspect the pipeline today.
The spokesperson stated that Karachi’s daily water supply is 650 million gallons (MGD). The repairs will result in a daily deficit of 150 MGD, leaving 500 MGD of water supply unaffected.
The KWSB is taking steps to mitigate disruptions to the city’s water supply during the repair period.
