Pat Cummins nears Imran Khan’s record for most five-wicket hauls as test captain

In a remarkable display, Australia secured a ten-wicket victory over India in the second Test of the five-match Border-Gavaskar Trophy.

The win, highlighted by a stellar bowling performance, saw Australian captain Pat Cummins shine with a five-wicket haul in the second innings.

India struggled against the Australian pace attack, being bowled out for 180 and 175 in their two innings.

While Mitchell Starc was instrumental in dismantling India’s batting lineup during the first innings, Cummins made his mark with impressive figures of 5/57 in the second, finishing the match with a total of seven wickets.

With this performance, Cummins has now accumulated eight five-wicket hauls as a Test captain, placing him just behind Imran Khan, who holds the record with twelve.

Richie Benaud follows with nine, while Bishan Singh Bedi also stands at eight.
