Queen Camilla skips major event amid health concerns

Queen Camilla has missed another significant royal event as her health issues continue to be a concern.

The Palace has made adjustments to her official schedule due to the lingering effects of a viral chest infection.

She will not attend the ceremonial welcome for the Amir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, and his wife, Sheikha Jawaher bint Hamad bin Suhaim Al Thani, which is set to take place at Horse Guards Parade.

Buckingham Palace confirmed that while Camilla will miss the outdoor event and the subsequent carriage ride back to Buckingham Palace, she is still expected to participate in other aspects of the State Visit, including a lunch at the Palace and an exhibition in the Picture Gallery.

The Queen has been dealing with the chest infection for several weeks, causing her to withdraw from other public engagements, including important events like Remembrance Sunday and the Royal Variety Performance.

Doctors have advised her to rest to avoid further complications from the infection, which she reportedly contracted during a recent trip to Australia and Samoa, leaving her with significantly reduced energy levels.
