Internet services across the country continue to face partial disruptions, leading to significant inconvenience for users.
Many residents in various cities are struggling with browsing, downloading, and accessing widely-used social media platforms such as Facebook, WhatsApp, and Instagram.
Even those utilizing VPNs are finding that these applications are operating at a sluggish pace.
The widespread outage is affecting numerous sectors, including businesses, education, and online services, with users reporting delays in completing essential tasks and maintaining communication.
The slowdown of social media applications may be due to a firewall enforced by the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority, according to reports. But the PTA has not confirmed this disruption or clarified the situation.
On Wednesday, the government reinstated internet services in cities like Islamabad and Rawalpindi after previously suspending connectivity in certain areas for security reasons.
“Mobile and internet services will be restored by morning. You will find all roads in working condition by morning,” Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi told reporters later at D-Chowk.
