The Rawalpindi administration has announced that all educational institutions would remain closed in the garrison city on Wednesday (tomorrow) because of the law and order situation.
The PTI, led by former prime minister Imran Khan, reached Islamabad on Monday, demanding his release and protesting against alleged electoral fraud and threats to judicial independence.
In a statement, the administration explained that the decision to close schools was made in light of the circumstances.
Such closures have become common in Islamabad during periods of political instability or significant foreign visits. Schools and colleges were also shut down during the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Summit in October.
