General Muhammad Asghar Khan, the Chief of the Malaysian Royal Air Force and of Pakistani descent, recently visited his hometown of Haryanpur.
During his visit, he met with relatives, paid respects at the graves of his deceased family members, and offered prayers.
On Friday, General Khan made a brief trip to his ancestral area of Beher Haryanpur, where he honored the memories of his late grandfather, Malik Qalandar Khan, uncle Malik Yaqoob, cousin Hafiz Rameez, and grandmother by praying at their graves.
District Police Officer Farhan Khan reported that General Asghar Khan’s visit lasted two hours, during which he engaged with family members.
Mukhtar Ahmed, Assistant Director of Local Government Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and a cousin of General Khan, shared that Malik Qalandar Khan had moved to Malaysia before the creation of Pakistan.

It was there that General Khan’s father, Gohar Aman, and uncle, Malik Muhammad Yaqoob, were born. Gohar Aman later retired as an officer in the Malaysian police.
Ahmed also mentioned that General Muhammad Asghar Khan is from the Awan tribe and had previously visited Karachi for training in 2008.
