‘Chaiwala’ Arshad Khan walks away with Rs 1 crore deal from Shark Tank Pakistan

The Pakistani tea seller who gained fame for his striking looks in a viral 2016 video, Arshad Khan, recently appeared on Shark Tank Pakistan and bagged Rs 1 crore from the sharks in the show.

Accompanied by his business partner Kazim Hasan, Khan outlined his journey from roadside tea seller to café owner.

He shared how the viral video inspired him to pursue his dream of opening a café, a goal he held while working at someone else’s dhaba.

Despite launching his first café in 2020 during the pandemic, he successfully relaunched it later that year and has since expanded to operate two cafés in Pakistan and three outlets in England through a franchise model.

Khan detailed the franchise fees in the UK, which range from £150,000 to £200,000, and expressed his vision to expand his business internationally.

While Sharks Junaid Iqbal and Faisal Aftab opted out of the deal due to their lack of experience in the hospitality sector, Rabeel Warraich offered Rs 1 crore for a 24% equity share.

Shark Romanna Dada later proposed a combined deal with Rabeel for the same amount. Shark Usman Bashir also joined in, offering to partner with Rabeel and Romanna for a 30 percent equity stake.
