Donkey prices soar in Pakistani due to high demand from China

The prices of donkeys have surged sharply in Pakistan, particularly in the Lyari donkey market, where traders and buyers are struggling to make deals.

Donkeys that previously sold for Rs20,000 to Rs30,000 are now priced between Rs80,000 and Rs100,000, causing concern among those who rely on donkey carts for their livelihoods.

This dramatic increase is largely attributed to the rising demand for donkey meat in China. Local traders reported that the price of a donkey has skyrocketed, with some stating that a donkey that once cost Rs20,000 is now selling for as much as Rs80,000.

This situation has left many donkey cart operators anxious about their financial stability.

The bustling donkey market in Lyari is filled with activity, but the soaring prices have made transactions difficult.
