At least nine people have been killed and 26 injured in a series of traffic accidents across Pakistan, attributed to dense fog and smog.
The deadliest incident occurred in Thatta, Sindh, where four vehicles collided in low visibility conditions, resulting in six fatalities and twelve injuries. The victims were traveling in two poultry trucks, a car and a truck.
The deceased have been identified as Shoaib Rehman and Nadeem Rehman. Ambulance delays exacerbated the suffering of the injured, who were transported to the Gharo Health Center. Four critically injured individuals were later transferred to Karachi Civil Hospital.
The fog, which began the previous night, persisted throughout the morning.
In Bhakkar, a bus traveling from Multan to Rawalpindi collided with a trailer, causing two deaths and seven injuries.
A third accident on the Silk Road in Abbottabad involved three motorcyclists who were struck by a truck, resulting in one death and two injuries.
Multiple collisions also occurred in Karoon Lal Eason, Layyah, due to reduced visibility, leaving five people injured.
