PTI is preparing to hold a massive rally in Swabi near the motorway to call for the release of party chief Imran Khan. Convoys from Lahore, Peshawar and other cities of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa provinces are headed towards the venue.
The opposition leader in the Punjab Assembly, Malik Ahmad Bhachar on Saturday morning reaffirmed his commitment to attending the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) rally in Swabi, asserting that no obstacles will deter their participation.
He plans to join the event in a convoy from Mianwali. He assured that the Lahore leadership will be present in Swabi by 1 PM today.
President of PTI Lahore, Sheikh Imtiaz, reported that some party members have already arrived in Swabi, while others are getting ready to depart.
In response to the upcoming PTI rally, the Punjab government has taken proactive measures. Police forces in Rawalpindi and Attock have been placed on high alert to manage any potential emergencies.
The Central Police Office in Lahore has deployed 1,500 police personnel from four districts, including District Police Officers (DPOs), the Punjab Constabulary, and Highway Patrolling Police, under the command of the Regional Police Officer (RPO) of Rawalpindi.
A directive has been issued to ensure this force is available to the RPO.
DPOs from Attock, Chakwal, Gujrat, and Mandi Bahauddin have been ordered to report to Rawalpindi with 200 personnel each. Additionally, 500 personnel from the Punjab Constabulary and 200 from the Punjab Highway Patrolling have been instructed to report to Rawalpindi and Attock.
All police personnel will operate under the authority of the RPO Rawalpindi, who will decide on the deployment of forces.

According to the issued guidelines, all units will be equipped with necessary anti-riot gear, including tear gas shells, to effectively manage any disruptions.
The Central Police Office in Rawalpindi and DPO Attock will also oversee arrangements for fuel, transportation, food, and accommodation for the deployed personnel.
