The installation of new, modern passport printers has been completed, resulting in a doubling of the Passport Department’s printing capacity.
The delays in passport issuance for those traveling abroad have been addressed.
Officials from the Passport and Immigration Department reported that the introduction of 10 new printers has increased production capacity to 40,000 passports daily, up from the previous capacity of 20,000.
DG Passports Mustafa Jamal Qazi announced that seven additional modern machines will be arriving at the passport headquarters soon, and two printers have been acquired specifically for e-passport printing.
He emphasized that the introduction of these modern printers will lead to a significant increase in printing capacity, allowing the department to clear the backlog on a daily basis.
