The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has reported that the sluggish performance of Meta platforms, including Facebook, is linked to the increasing number of users.
In a statement submitted to Parliament, the PTA explained that internet disruptions have notably impacted services for Meta applications such as Facebook and WhatsApp.
Users have been alerted that internet speeds may be slower during peak hours, and telecom operators have swiftly redirected traffic to alternative routes to mitigate the issue.
The PTA also noted that the slow performance experienced on WhatsApp and Facebook was resolved in the first week of September, with expectations for normal service to resume once the SMW4 submarine cable is repaired.
