A second armed robbery targeting a bank in Islamabad has occurred today, resulting in one death and several injuries. The incident took place in Sector G-9/4, where armed robbers attacked an Askari Bank vehicle delivering cash to a National Bank branch.
According to reports, the robbers, wearing helmets, opened fire on security guards before fleeing with a bag of cash.
Two security guards and three employees of a nearby hotel were injured in the crossfire. The injured were taken to PIMS hospital, where one hotel employee succumbed to their injuries.
This follows a similar incident yesterday in Sector G-15, where a security guard was killed during a bank robbery.
A separate incident in Sector I-9 saw a bank van fired upon, injuring one security guard.
