Dubai travel warning among 18 issued by UK amid Israeli airstrikes on Iran

The UK’s Foreign Office has revised its travel advice for 18 countries following Israeli airstrikes on Iran on October 26. Among the affected nations are popular winter sun destinations for British travelers, including Dubai, Tunisia, and Egypt.

The advisory covers Cyprus, Turkey, Bahrain, Egypt, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates, Algeria, Tunisia, Syria, Lebanon, Iran, Morocco, the Occupied Palestinian Territories, Israel, and Libya.

“Ongoing hostilities in the region and between Israel and Lebanon could escalate quickly and pose risks for the wider region,” according to the notification.

“On October 1, Iran launched around 200 ballistic missiles at Israel. On October 26, Israel carried out military action against Iran.”

Travelers intending to visit the listed countries should review the complete details of the Foreign Office’s travel advice.

The Foreign Office strongly advises against traveling to Iran and has issued warnings for specific areas in Egypt, including North Sinai and the border with Libya.

Additionally, British citizens are cautioned against all but essential travel near Saudi Arabia’s border with Yemen and the borders of Algeria with Libya, Niger, Mali, and Mauritania. The advisory also includes a warning against trvel to Tunisia’s border with Algeria and Libya.
