Unidentified assailants destroyed the house of former Senator Saleh Shah in upper South Waziristan on Saturday, police said.
The attackers utilised explosives to completely raze the structure to the ground.
Upon receiving the alert, security forces and police quickly arrived at the scene, cordoning off the area and launching a search operation.
This is not the first time Shah’s residence has been targeted; his house on Gomal Tank Road was previously attacked.
Saleh Shah is known for his involvement in facilitating dialogue between the Taliban and the government. The motive behind the latest attack remains unclear as investigations are ongoing.
