SBCA greenlights sale, advertisement NOC for Bahria Town Karachi

The Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA) has reinstated the sale and advertisement no-objection certificate (NOC) for Bahria Town Karachi, The News reported.

In a letter from the deputy director of the Public Sale Advertisement and Complaint Section, it was confirmed that the provisional NOC, initially issued on September 19, 2022, has been restored following approval from the SBCA’s director general and based on the legal section’s recommendations.

The restoration pertains to the Bahria Town Karachi Project, which spans 16,896 acres, and is based on the layout plan approved by the Malir Development Authority on June 13, 2022.

The SBCA clarified that it would not be held liable for any disputes regarding the legality and ownership of the land, and the NOC could be revoked if such issues arise.

The letter also outlined that the issuance of the NOC is contingent upon the payment of the outstanding scrutiny fee of Rs14.44 million, which must be paid in two equal installments. Additionally, the developer must submit the necessary license within one month. Upon fulfilling such legal requirements, the developer will then be eligible to receive the completion certificate.
